Unpacking the Tegus
First off we made the hides that we had picked up from their old enclosures,
A bit of cement and digging it didn’t take long, although very hot work!
At the end of all the work a bit of drinking and feeding goes down well!!!
Packing the Tegus
After a long and hard drive up to the west of bali the following morning we started to pack up the tegus.
Driving in Indonesia is evry different to many other countries, on Bali there are no freeways/motorways just 1 long arduous coastal road.
It was quite hot work, and there is nothing like a luke warm can of sweat to refresh you.
We also had a few fresh coconuts at the same time !!
Unfortunatley there was the drive back and unpacking to do in the ame day…..
Religious blessing before the tegus are moved in.
For most of the population here on bali there are many religious ceremonies based around everyday happenings.
Hindu religion or Hindu Dharma is held by almost 95% of the population. Its teaching is to reach peace and harmony in life guided by the Wedas as Holy Scriptures. Hindu Dharma is a special blend of Hinduism, Buddhism and ancestor worship that has been flourishing over the centuries. They believe in One Supreme God called Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, with His three manifestations known as Trisakti, that is Brahma The Creator, Wisnu The Preserver, and Shiwa The Transformer.
This particular ceremony was to mark the successfull completion of the build,
Some ceremonies are very long and expensive, some are simple (like this one)
