We have a group of around 60 fully adult animals, and around 250 sub-adults animals, currently they reside in west bali at a low elevation, we felt they would prefer a move to a higher elevation elevation and over to the more popular side of bali (the east!!), hey they are tourists here after all…

On our blog will be talking about creating their new pens and the moving and settling process, we are moving them a few months before we usually see mating activity so we are hoping that the move will jiggle them up to be super productive this season.

Today work began on digging the trenches for the foundations, I was very surprised the workers turned up on time and put a full days work in here, a wholly unheard of idea in Indonesia…still it is only day 1.

You can see the main areas here where the larger pens are under construction, we have many banana, papaya, coconut, lime, cassava plants/trees in the area, which will provide an excellent natural shade in areas, but also be very useful for eating and drinking….

Here there will be 3 main large pens, measuring 22.5m x 6m, the foundations need to go down at least 50cm, as the tegus are great diggers!
